Nicolas graduated in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in engineering and in 2014 with a master’s degree in (civil) computer engineering, both from the UCL. In 2017, Nicolas started a Doctor of Philosophy – PhD, HCI & Data Science which ended in March 2022, also from UCL.
As far as he recalls, mathematics have been part of his life, he loves numbers and can crunch them for hours. Technical profile per definition, Nicolas is highly interested by the media landscape and root: gathers both of his passions.
Big Data is his stuff, and, as an example, in the context of his master thesis, he had to perform an analysis of a mobile financial service (a.k.a. Mobile Money) network located in Tanzania in order to identify the properties of the network and to provide several results on which more in-depth and/or business-oriented analysis of the network could be based. The analysis was performed on the basis of an unstructured data set of type ‘Big Data’ containing about 100 millions financial transactions performed by millions of users over a period of several months.
French speaking, he is fluent in English.
In his spare time, he walks a lot. He is a cinema and video games addict. He also loves role playing games and other geeks stuff with his friends.
